Pirates of Mystara Interactive Map
Karameikos
Karameikos is a deep, dark land; mostly wilderness which man throughout recorded history has tried to occupy. Karameikos sits on the south shore of the continent of Brun, west of The Thyatian Empire and east of the Five Shires; to the north, broad mountain ranges separate the nation from The Republic of Darokin and The Emirates of Ylaruam.
Most of Karameikos is covered with thick forests, hardwoods and softwoods, and is largely unexplored. There are broad patches of rich soil, especially beside the broad Highreach River where farming is good.
The capital city of Specularum is a thriving and very active seaport with around 50,000 inhabitants; other notable sites are the city of Kelvin and the town of Threshold, in the northern hill country, a haven for adventurers surrounded by humanoid-inhabited wilderness.
KARAMEKIAN NAVY
Karamekain miltary force is mostly army based and infact, in Karamekian military terms a fleet of ships is theoretically a Battalion of the army and because the Karameikan navy is so small, Admiral Hyraksos tends to command all fleet actions personally. The 3rd Division is actually the Royal Navy of Karameikos, and the Navy patrols the coast of Karameikos and occasionally wages war with the pirates operating from the Gulf of Halag . The Navy's shipbuilding facilities and base are in Specularum Bay.
An individual ship consists of a captain of 6th level, a lieutenant of 4th level, four sergeants of 2d level, and 52 sailors. The sailors tend to be unarmored , and armed with swords (cutlasses), crossbows, and daggers. There are currently eight ships of the line in the Navy, though more would be commissioned in times of war.

KARAMEKIAN PIRATES
PIRATE LORD:
Lord Azzur
The
pirates of Karameikos all hail from the Black Eagle Barony and most
of them live in Port Blacksand. They sail into the Gulf of Halag and
prey upon Karameikan merchant vessels.
Whilst pirates from other
regions have some sort of code they follow the pirates of Port
Blacksand only follow one code; each man for themselves.
